Resources: 416 personnel including 10 crews, 28 engines, 6 water tenders, and 8 helicopters

Southern Area Blue Team Operations Sections Chief Jon Wallace provides a morning update on the KNP Complex fire.
The KNP Complex ignited by lightning on the night of September 9. The Paradise and Colony Fires joined yesterday, and can now be considered a single fire. Sequoia National Park is closed to the public.
Explore a map of the areas under evacuation warning and order, as well as other evacuation resources, at tularecounty.ca.gov/emergencies.
The KNP Complex has been a full suppression incident since the discovery of the smokes the morning following the lightning storm.

    Hi Sharon, yes they are working in Silver City and Mineral King. Preparing around cabins and planning for attack or points they can stop fire eventually. They mentioned there is a new jell retardant to apply to the structures that is the same material in diapers! It can be applied manually or from the air I believe and if it drys can be reactivated by water, Thought that was interesting. Other than that their dozing fire line to protect Three Rivers and also will continue with that across to North fork and Yucca Flat and anywhere else it is feasible. Focusing on the Sequoia grove and Three Rivers at this point as it is immigrate. Hope that helps. Love all you updates and info!
